Where Are You Based?

We are based in Launceston but service the whole of Tasmania. If you need transport or gear hire from a location outside of Launceston feel free to get in touch with us prior to booking to discuss your options.

What Do I Do With Extra Luggage I Don’t Need On The Track?

There are a few options here!
If you are staying at the same hotel before and after your hike, they will most likely be happy to store your luggage for you.
Failing that, if we are dropping you off and picking you up at the end of your hike we are happy to hold onto your luggage for you.

We’ll even drop your bags off to the Lake St Clair Lodge or Pumphouse Point if we’re up that way on dates that suit and you’re planning on spending a night up there before coming back to town.

How Do I Make A Booking?

You can make a booking online by selecting the item you wish to hire and filling out the details of your hire period. Alternatively, send an email to wildislandhire@gmail.com with the item/s, date and duration of the hire period and we will send you through a quote. 
Gear hire and transport bookings need to be completed separately - follow this link to get booking

HELP! I'm Not Sure What I Need

Not a problem at all.... with over 11 years of guiding/outdoor adventure experience we're happy to help! Send us an email to wildislandhire@gmail.com and tell us about your plans - we will endeavour to point you in the right direction and help you chose the right gear for your holiday!

Where Do I Pick Up & Drop Off The Gear?

Depending on the day, we can drop the gear off to your accommodation - either meeting you there or leaving it with reception for you to collect. We may drop the gear off to a location in Launceston if we’re un-able to drop off to your accommodation (in the instance of there being no reception).
Either way we will contact you via email to organise a suitable pick up/drop off location and time after your booking - if you only have a small window of time available please contact us first to ensure the pick up/drop off is possible

I've Never Used A Hiking Stove Before..

Not to worry! We will give you a thorough briefing on how to use all of the equipment properly - the same goes for setting up tents, best practise for using a sleeping bag, how to use hiking poles properly - we will make sure you are well prepared before you head out on your adventure.
