Experience one of Tasmania’s most spectacular alpine viewpoints on a self-guided adventure to Marion's Lookout with the convenience and support of Wild Island Adventure Hire. Coming soon, this carefully designed day-hike package will allow walkers to experience the incredible landscape of Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park while leaving all the logistics to the local experts.
Your adventure will begin with a comfortable transfer into the national park, giving you easy access to the start of the walking track near the iconic Dove Lake. From here, you’ll set out on a self-guided hike through alpine heathlands, glacial valleys, and some of Tasmania’s most breathtaking wilderness landscapes.
The climb to Marion’s Lookout is one of the most rewarding short hikes in the Cradle Mountain region. As the track rises above Dove Lake, spectacular views begin to unfold across the rugged peaks of Cradle Mountain and the surrounding alpine plateau. The final section of the trail includes rock steps and a short chain-assisted climb, adding a sense of adventure before reaching the famous lookout. At the top, you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views across the lakes, mountains, and wild landscapes that make this part of Tasmania so special.
With the upcoming Wild Island Adventures self-guided package, everything you need for the hike will be taken care of. Walkers will be provided with high-quality hiking equipment including a day pack, waterproof jacket, and other essential gear suited to Tasmania’s ever-changing alpine weather.
To make the experience even easier, your food will be transferred to the trail in the morning so you can enjoy a fresh lunch during your hike. In the afternoon, our team will collect the food containers and any equipment, allowing you to walk comfortably without carrying unnecessary weight.
