From Launceston to Cradle Mountain
For many hikers arriving in northern Tasmania, Launceston is the most convenient starting point for their Overland Track transport.
Our transfer service takes you from Launceston towards Cradle Mountain, allowing you to leave the driving and road logistics to us.
The journey provides a scenic introduction to Tasmania before you reach the Cradle Mountain area.
Once you arrive at the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre, walkers can continue to the Overland Track departure point at Ronny Creek using the park shuttle service.
The shuttle journey from the Visitor Centre to the track start is part of the normal Overland Track logistics for walkers.
Important: Your Wild Island Adventures transport takes you to the appropriate Cradle Mountain area. The Cradle Mountain park shuttle is operated separately.
Finishing the Overland Track at Lake St Clair
After several days of walking, carrying your pack and travelling through Tasmania's wilderness, reaching Lake St Clair is a significant milestone.
The end of your walking itinerary usually involves reaching the Lake St Clair area and then continuing to the Lake St Clair Visitor Centre.
If you are finishing at Narcissus, you may need to arrange the ferry across Lake St Clair separately.
Once you arrive at the Visitor Centre, Wild Island Adventures can provide your onward transport according to the transfer you have booked.
This means your journey does not have to finish when you leave the track.
