Tyndall Ranges Walk Map (Proposed Route)

The Tyndall Ranges walk is a proposed 2–3 day alpine hike on Tasmania’s remote west coast, linking Lake Plimsoll in the north to Lake Margaret in the south.

This route traverses rugged ridgelines, glacial lakes, and exposed alpine terrain — offering one of the most spectacular wilderness experiences in Tasmania. Currently the Tyndall ranges is navagitable by cairns

The Tyndall Ranges project is known as the next iconic walk in Tasmania with an estimated cost of $40,00,000 with completion expected to be around 2028 to 2029. Want to know more? >>>Click Here<<<

Navigation & Experience Required – Tyndall Ranges Walk

The Tyndall Ranges walk is not yet a fully formed track and should only be attempted by experienced hikers with strong navigation skills.

Unlike Tasmania’s more established walks, this route involves a combination of off-track travel, faint pads and cairn-marked alpine sections. Walkers must be confident using topographic maps, GPS navigation and route finding in remote terrain.
